Cold Forging Mold
These are the molds used for cold forging.
Extremely high pressure (called the forming load) is required to form metal without softening it by heating it up.
This big pressure applied to the mold at the time of forming the metal, the metal generates heat up to250~350℃ inside the mold, although this is cold forging.
This temperature brings risks of elongation, deformation, and galling.
Therefore, these cold forging molds are made of extremely hard metal. At the same time, special surface treatment is given.
